ایک آدمی پندرہ سال بعد قید سے رہا ہوا۔ جب وہ بازار پہنچا تو ایک فقیر نے صدا لگائی ہے کوئی جو ایک درم میں مجھ سے تین نصیحتیں لے۔ رہائ کی خوشی میں اس آدمی نے ایک درم دے دیا۔ فقیر بولنا شروع ہوا۔ پہلی نصیحت یہ ہے۔ اگر سمندر کا پانی خشک بھی ہو تو اس کے کنارے سونا نہیں چاہیے۔ دوسرا یہ کہ بلوری آنکھوں والی عورت پر بھروسہ مت کرو۔ تیسرا غصے کی حالت میں اپنے فیصلے پر فلفور عمل مت کرنا۔ نصیحتیں سننے کے بعد آدمی وہاں سے چلا گیا۔ اس نے قافلہ تلاش کیا۔ جو اس کے گھر کے قریبی شہر میں تجارت کے لئے جا رہا تھا۔ اس قافلے کے ساتھ روانہ ہو گیا۔ یہ سفر تقریبا بیس دنوں کا تھا۔ آٹھویں دن قافلہ ایک خشک سمندر کے کنارے پہنچا۔ فیصلہ ہوا کہ آج کی رات ادھر ہی بسر کی جائے۔ سب نے ٹھنڈی ریت پر اپنے بستر لگائے اور تجارت کے سامان سے لدے اونٹوں کو بھی قریب باندھ دیا۔ مگر وہ آدمی جس نے فقیر سے نصیحتیں سنی تھی۔ وہاں قریبی ایک ٹیلے پر چڑھ کر سو گیا۔ صبح جاگا تو دیکھا اونٹ تو موجود ہیں مگر لوگ پانی میں بہہ گئے ہیں۔ رات کے کسی پہر کو سمندر میں پانی آیا جو سوئے ہوئے لوگوں کو اپنے ساتھ بہا لے گیا۔ اب وہ آدمی سارے تجارت کے سامان اور اونٹوں کا مالک تھا۔ جب وہ آدمی سامان تجارت لے کر شہر پہنچا۔ وہاں ایک اور تاجر سے مل کر اس نے سارا سامان بیچ دیا۔ اس تاجر نے رات اس کو اپنے گھر روکنے کی دعوت دی۔ جو اس نے خوشی سے قبول کر لی۔ اس نے تاجر کو اپنا سارا واقعہ سنایا کہ کس طرح وہ امیر آدمی بنا اور یہ تجارت کا مال کہاں سے آیا۔ اپنا سارا مال تاجر کے پاس امانت رکھ دیا۔ صبح جانے کے وقت واپس لے لے گا۔ رات کھانے پر اس نے تاجر کی بیوی کو دیکھا جس کی آنکھیں بلوری تھیں۔ تو اس کو فقیر کی دوسری نصیحت یاد آگئی۔ تاجر کا جوان بیٹا بھی تھا۔ تاجر بولا تم کمرے میں سو جاؤ اور میرا بیٹا باہر صہن میں سو جائے گا۔ مگر رات کو اس آدمی نے تاجر کے بیٹے کے ساتھ جگہ بدل لی۔ رات کو تاجر کے بیٹے کو اپنی جگہ کمرے میں سولا دیا۔ رات تاجر کی بیوی نے تاجر کو اس بات پر آمادہ کرلیا کہ اس شخص کو قتل کر دیتے ہیں۔ اس طرح ہم اس کی دولت کے مالک بن جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ اس کے آگے پیچھے کوئی نہیں ۔ چنانچہ رات کو انہوں نے کمرے میں سوئے اپنے ہی بیٹے کو لاعلمی میں قتل کر دیا۔ مگر جب صبح ہوئی تو ان کو پتہ چلا کہ ہم نے اپنے ہی بیٹے کو قتل کر دیا ہے۔ اس عورت نے رونا اور شور مچانا شروع کر دیا۔ لوگ اکٹھے ہو گئے۔ اس آدمی نے سارا ماجرا لوگوں کو سنایا اور اپنا مال سمیٹ کر وہاں سے نکل گیا۔ اب اس نے گھر کا سفر شروع کیا۔ رات کو اپنے گاؤں پہنچا۔ جب وہ اپنے گھر کی دیوار پھلانگنے لگا تو دیکھا اس کے گھر میں دو چارپائیاں ہیں۔ ایک تو اس کی بیوی کی تھی اور دوسرا کوئی اجنبی آدمی تھا۔ اس کو بہت غصہ آیا۔ اس کا دل چاہا کہ میں دونوں کو قتل کر دو۔ مگر اس کو فقیر کی تیسری نصیحت یاد آئی۔ اس نے صبر کیا اور وہاں سے چلا گیا۔ صبح دوبارہ اپنے گھر آیا اور اپنی بیوی سے پوچھا کہ وہ دوسرا شخص کون ہے۔ اس کی بیوی روپڑی اور بتایا کہ اس کا بیٹا ہے۔ کیونکہ شادی کے تین مہینے بعد وہ آدمی کام کی غرض سے شہر گیا اور چوری کے الزام میں قید ہو گیا۔ اس لیے اس کو معلوم نہ تھا کہ وہ ایک بیٹے کا باپ بن گیا ہے۔ وہ بہت خوش ہوا۔ اس طرح فقیر کی تین نصیحتوں نے اس کی زندگی بدل دی اور اس کو بڑی مصیبتوں سے بچا لیا۔
